After a remarkable 75-day tour, bringing the vibrant art of Yakshagana to every corner of North America, the Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation team successfully concluded their final performance in Dallas, Texas, on September 22.

Led by the Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation USA, the troupe performed at around 21 different locations across the U.S., setting a new record for Yakshagana performances abroad. A key figure behind this success was Dr. Aravind Upadhyaya, President of the Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation USA. He coordinated with local organizers, managed the troupe’s travel and schedules, and ensured that each event ran smoothly. The foundation’s officials and organizers also played a pivotal role in making this tour a success.

In recognition of the foundation’s philanthropic activities, the Mayor of Phoenix declared July 27 as “Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Day,” and the Mayor of Wisconsin followed suit on August 18. These proclamations mark yet another proud achievement for the foundation.

One of the highlights of this year’s tour was the presentation of the Yakshagana episode Shambhavi Vijaya in nearly twelve locations, which drew large audiences. It was especially notable that many non-Kannada speakers and Americans attended and appreciated the performances, adding to the significance of the tour.

Under the leadership of Satish Patla, this year’s tour achieved numerous milestones. The success is a testament to the collective efforts of the artists, foundation officials, organizers, and the rich cultural heritage of Yakshagana.

With hopes for even greater achievements in the coming years, many look forward to Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation continuing to promote this unique art form globally.
