Mangaluru: Repair work is still underway on the landslide-affected railway track between Yedakumeri and Kadagaravalli.
So far, 1900 cubic feet of rocks have been placed at the site to prevent mudslides. An additional 2000 cubic feet of rocks and 1 lakh sandbags are needed, with 93,200 sandbags already provided. To power earthmovers and other machinery, 26 barrels of diesel have been supplied.
A total of 11 earthmovers are operational at the site. Despite ongoing rain, workers unloaded 23 wagonloads of rocks on Tuesday. In total, 94 wagonloads of rocks have been delivered to the site, according to the statement.
Tree Removal on Charmadi Ghat Road: Heavy rainfall in Chikkamagaluru and Belthangady areas caused a tree to fall on the Charmadi Ghat road on the morning of July 30, obstructing vehicle movement. Immediate removal operations were conducted, and smooth traffic flow was restored by midday.
