Yelburga MLA Halappa Achar COVID-19 positive

Yelburga: MLA Halappa Achar from here was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Saturday, August 1.

He wrote on his Facebook account that he had tested for COVID-19 and the reports came as positive. He is undergoing treatment now. If anyone who had come in contact with him shows symptoms of COVID-19 then they must immediately get tested.

He added that he is temporarily suspending all of his public functions. During this period, he and his office staff will be available through the telephone.

Speaking to Udayavani, he said that the people of taluk need not panic. He urged them to wear facemasks while going out and maintain social distance.

Achar’s office has not been sealed but there is a likelihood that it may be sealed.
