The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for the coastal areas of Malnad and south interior Karnataka regions from October 16-18.
As per the forecast, a low pressure area is likely to develop owing to the cyclonic circulation over Southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Lakshadweep area. Thus scattered to widespread with light to moderate rains and at isolated places heavy rains is expected.
As per today’s prediction, the LPA is likely to intensify as a Cyclonic Storm and is likely to hit the OMAN coast by around October 24/25.
