Yogesh Gowda murder case: HC denies bail to Vinay Kulkarni

Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Monday denied bail to former minister Vinay Kulkarni, accused of the murder of BJP leader Yogesh Gowda.

Dismissing Kulkarni’s bail plea Justice K Natarajan said that his attempts to tamper with the evidences and the witnesses have been considered in the bail denial.

Kulkarni reportedly had made attempts to hide his links to the murder by pressurising a police officer to file a false chargesheet, paying money to witnesses, promising a top post in the Congress to Yogesh Gowda’s wife and even changing the public prosecutor.

“The documents presented by the CBI reveal that the petitioner using his political influence was involved in a pre-planned murder,” the judge said.
