Kanpur: In a bizarre incident, a goat was taken into custody by Kanpur police for ‘without wearing a mask’.

Reportedly, the incident took place over the weekend, the Beconganj police who noticed the animal without a mask took it with them in their jeep. When the owner realized that the goat is at the police station, he rushed there and pleaded the authorities to release it.

However, the police finally let him take back his goat but warned him not to allow the animal to roam on the road.

“When people making their dogs wear a mask, why not a goat,” Circle officer of the Anwarganj police station, Saifuddin Beg was quoted speaking to IANS.

After the news broke, it is gaining momentum and netizens are cracking jokes on the same.

However, the police after it became the butt of jokes on social media changed its version and said that they saw a youth without a mask was taking the goat along and when he saw them he ran away leaving the goat behind so they brought the goat to the police station.
