Raichur: Chief Minister Kumaraswamy on Wednesday lost his temper after hundreds of members of Tungabhadra Neeravari Valaya Hangami Karmika Sangha and Hutti Gold Mines Staff and Employees Union, on Wednesday blocked his convoy demanding fullfillment of their long pending demands.
An irate Kumaraswamy reportedly got up from his seat and lashed out at the protestors saying, “You people voted for Modi but come to me seeking a solution for your problems. You all are shameless people. You should be lathi-charged.”
The incident took place during the chief minister’s village stay program at Raichur. Following Kumaraswamy’s public outburst, Minister Venkatrao Nadegouda and other leaders pacified him.
After realizing that the situation was going out of control, Kumaraswamy had brief chat with protesting leaders through the window of the bus and promised them he would convey a meeting to solve their problems within a week.
It is gathered that around 748 labours working on the maintenance of Tungabhadra left bank canal were not received a salary from the last 14 months and the workers should be provided with job security.
