Youth accused in Ilyas murder arrested

Mangaluru: One of the accused in Ilyas murder case has been arrested by the Police.

The accused has been identified as Umar Nawaf (25), resident of Ullal.

Pandeshwar police station arrested Umar on Tuesday.

Ilyas one of the members from the Target group was stabbed to death at his residence on January 13.

The police have also recovered a motor cycle and two swords used in the crime. Seven cases including assault, attempted murder, robbery, theft and kidnap are pending against Umar at Ullal police station and a case of theft is registered at Manjeshwar police station.

Accused Dawood, Mohammed Sameer alias Sameer, Mohammed Nasir alias Nasir alias Nachi, Riaz alias Ria alias Iyya and Nameer Hamza have already been arrested and sent in judicial custody relating to Ilyas murder.
