Udupi: The death note of a Kundapura youth who committed suicide on Tuesday, October 16 has left his family members in bewilderment.

The deceased, Vivek, 23, a resident of Markodu Bobbarimakki near Koteshwar left behind a note claiming that he perceived a threat to his life from a terrorist organisation. The three-page note also mentions that the lives of his family too was in danger and with no other way to escape from their clutches he thought it better to end his own life.

Vivek was employed in the agricultural department of Reliance Foundation and is said to have had a pleasing personality. People known to him can’t come to terms with the fact that a youth leading a simple lifestyle as Vivek did, faced threat to his life from a terrorist organisation and have demanded an investigation into the matter. Moreover, Vivek did not divulge a word about any organisation to other nor he himself was associated with any outfit.

The police have registered a case of unnatural death and have begun investigations to ascertain the veracity of the details mentioned in his note.
