Mangaluru: Youth Congress from Mangaluru North division staged a protest ‘rasta roko’ at Honnakatte near here.

The protest was staged against the bad condition of National Highway 66 between Kuloor and Baikampady.

Speaking at the occasion, MLA Mohiuddin Bava demanded that NHAI should stop collecting toll at NITK Surathkal and at BC Road.

Mangaluru North Youth Congress president Girish Alva said that the NH 66 road between Surathkal to Mangaluru is not in a good state and it takes more time than it should actually take.

District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai said that the wing would protest against collection of toll till the highway and service roads are restored.

Activists also played cricket on the battered stretch of the national highway.
