Karkala: A case of fraud has been reported where a youth from Mulkadka village, Suchith, was deceived with a false promise of employment at Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL).

The accused, identified as Avinash from Mangaluru, allegedly assured Suchith of securing a job at MRPL in exchange for Rs1.05 lakh.

Believing the promise, Suchith paid the amount in installments between November 18 and December 26. However, the accused failed to deliver on the job promise and did not return the money, leading to allegations of fraud.
