Youth ends life jumping into Netravati river

Bantwal: A youth ended his life by jumping into the Netravati River from the Panemangaluru bridge on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Praveen (38), a resident of Goltamajalu village near Netla.
It is said that Praveen, who worked as a mechanic, was suffering from mental health issues for some time. On Thursday, he arrived at the bridge on a bike and jumped into the river.
On learning that a youth had jumped into the river a search and rescue operation, involving local expert divers, police and the Bantwal Fire Brigade. The dead body was recovered in the evening.
According to the police complaint, Praveen had attempted to take his life earlier too.
A case has been registered at the Bantwal Town police station.
