Youth from Kinnigoli drowns at Kuwait beach while rescuing stranger

Mangaluru: A man from Kinnigoli died in Kuwait while trying to save the life of a drowning stranger at a beach.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Anees (28). The incident took place at around 8.30 pm on Saturday, July 18.

As per sources, Anees and his friends had been to the Salmiya beach, where he saw a stranger getting washed away by the waves while swimming.

Anees immediately rushed to rescue him and eventually he swept away and drowned. His body was found on the morning of Sunday, July 19.

Due to the COVID situation, Anees’s family decided to conduct his funeral in Kuwait itself.
