Youth from Mangaluru dies due to drowning at Talakona waterfall near Tirupati

Mangaluru: A youth from the city died due to drowning at the picturesque Talakona waterfall near Tirupati.
The deceased has been identified as Sumanth Amin, a 23-year-old MSc student.
The incident occurred on Friday when Sumanth, who had embarked on a tourist trip to Tirupati, met with a fatal accident at the waterfall.
Sumanth, a resident of Kulai Honnakatte, had been pursuing his Master of Science degree at the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi University in Chennai. The incident occurred on Friday when Sumanth, who had embarked on a tourist trip to Tirupati.
According to sources, prior to his departure, he had informed his father, Suresh Amin, about his plan to visit Tirupati. They later went to the waterfall located approximately 60 kilometers away from Tirupati.
Tragedy struck when Sumanth dived into the water and accidentally got his foot trapped in a crevice. Though his friend rushed to his aid and managed to lift Sumanth out of the water, he could not be saved, sources added.
The family was immediately notified, and the lifeless body of Sumanth was transported back to his residence in Kulai Honnakatte.
Sumanth Amin was known for his exceptional academic abilities and his passion for various creative pursuits, including documentary filmmaking, photography, and traveling.
Suresh Amin, Sumanth’s father, holds the position of manager at Canara Bank in Payyannur, while his mother, Umakshi, serves as the headmistress of a government school in Kenjaru.
