Youth jumps off Netravathi Bridge

Ullal: An unidentified youth committed suicide by jumping off Netravati Bridge near Adamkudru along national highway 66 on Wednesday afternoon, August 8th.

A couple which was travelling in an auto-rickshaw from Thokkottu towards Mangaluru witnessed a person wearing black t-shirt and a bag jump off the bridge. The rickshaw was stopped immediately and they located the victim drowning and resurfacing in the river. By the time other vehicles stopped to see what was happening, only the bag remained floating on the river. According to the woman’s description, the youth is expected to be between the ages of 30-35 years.

As the news of the incident began to spread, people started accumulating on the bridge and thelocalites informed the police. Kankanady police rushed to the spot, but since there was no definite information on the incident, no case was registered.
