Youth kills brother for abusing mother

Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a youth stabbed his brother to death after he allegedly abused and assaulted their mother in Konanakunte near JP Nagar on Friday.
The victim has been identified as Vinay R, a resident of Chunchagatta in Konanakunte.
It has been reported that Vinay was suffering from chronic drinking problem and had come home drunk on Thursday. He picked a fight with his mother and started hurling abuses at her. His brother, Sanjay, who was also home, warned Vinay to stop beating their mother, but he continued. In fit of rage, Sanjay stabbed Vinay repeatedly.
Hearing the screams, the neighbours came over and found Vinay lying in a pool of blood. Realising what he had done, Sanjay rushed his brother, with help from the neighbours, to hospital, but he was declared brought dead.
The accused Sanjay revealed that he and his mother had asked Vinay to quit drinking, but he never paid heed and continued. He would come home drunk everyday and fight with their mother.
Sanjay has been arrested and produced before a magistrate, who remanded him to judicial custody. The police are yet to take the statement of the mother as she is being treated for injuries.
