Bengaluru: A youth allegedly killed a girl’s father, after being asked not to torment her.
The deceased has been identified as Anwar (42), a resident of Nanjappa Circle. The accused youth Zahid (22), has been arrested.
The incident took place under Ashokanagar police station limits.
Case details:
Anwar was a goods auto driver and lived with his family in a house near Nanjappa Circle and has a 15-year-old daughter who is studying in a private school. The accused Zahid, who works in an electrical godown, pestered Anwar’s minor daughter by following her and forcing her to fall in love with him. Tired of it, the girl told her father about this.
Three months ago, Anwar met Zahid and asked him to stop tormenting his daughter. However, on September 2 evening, Zahid again followed the girl and forced her to be his girlfriend.
Enraged by this, Anwar went to Zahid’s house and told his parents to warn their son not to trouble his daughter. In a fit of rage, the accused, who was there, brought out a knife and stabbed Anwar in the neck. Though the locals rushed him to the hospital he was declared dead.
Police said that a case has been registered and the accused has been arrested.
