Mangaluru: A 25-year-old youth on his way to Kumble from Mangaluru International Airport was waylaid and robbed of his belongings near Padavinangady here on Friday, November 22 evening.

The victim had arrived from Dubai at around 6.30 pm on Friday and had taken a car to proceed towards Kumble. A gang that was following the victim from the airport blocked his car near Padavinangady here and fled with his luggage after assaulting him.

A case in this regard was filed at Mangaluru rural police station. While the police suspect that the miscreants might be familiar to the victim, he has claimed that he did not identify his attackers.

The police are trying to procure leads into the case from the youth and his car driver
