Scientists discover bees that can eat and digest rotten meat

Bees that have evolved to eat and digest flesh — not just fresh but also carrion — have been discovered by scientists, earning them the moniker "vulture bees." These bees have developed acid-loving bacteria in their guts, similar to those found in the stomachs of vultures and hyenas, according to researchers at Cornell University, University of California Riverside, and the American Museum of Natural History.
