Excavating Truth (Ayodhya Verdict) in conversation with K.K.Mohammed

Dr. K Muhammed, former Director of Archeological Survey of India, shared audience his journey as an archaeologist throughout the Mandir-Masjid issue to an eager in the session ‘ Excavating Truth’ held at the Mangaluru Lit Fest on 29th December 2019. Having dedicated 40 years of his life in ‘Excavating Truth’ he shared interesting insights regarding the disputed land in #Ayodhya. He said “During the first excavation they found 12 pillars which belonged to Hindu architectural practices.” However he later added that a reputed historian stated in the media that there were no temples. In the second archaeological survey, which he was not a part of, there were findings which reinstated the existence of a temple before the Mosque. He added that “The current SC judgment is based on these findings.” He believes that India has not prospered to its potential largely because the people are fighting among themselves. Coming from a childhood background rich with teachings of Hindu mythology he stressed on the need for culture to be inculcated at the School level. Soft power especially productive nationalism is healthy and important for the country’s growth. When asked, Dr.K.K.Muhammed agreed with the statement that Marxist historian were the once who lost in the Ayodhya verdict. …………………………………………………………………………………….
