Mr. T. Mohandas Pai - Chairman, MMNL
Dr. T. Mohandas Pai is the eldest son of Dr. Tonse Madhava Ananth Pai - the founder of Manipal Educational Complex - and Smt. Sharada Pai. He is an alumnus of MGM College, Udupi having studied in the very first intermediate batch during 1949-51 when the college started in the premises of the Mahatma Gandhi School run by Udupi Municipal Council. After Intermediate he attended a course in law in Kolhapur (1951-53) securing the First Rank from Poona University and then he decided to become an entrepreneur in Manipal.
He joined the family business in 1953 as the General Manager of Canara Land Investments (which was running the Tile Factory in Manipal) and took additional responsibilities at Manipal Power Press as Managing Partner where he was later joined by Mr. Satish Pai in the year 1957.
Mr. T. Mohandas Pai, an architect of modern Karnataka who dedicated his life to assure economic and health security to the poor, realized the potential of Coastal Karnataka as a financial and business hub and transformed a barren hillock into what is modern Manipal. The fruits of his life�s efforts are visible today through the University, hospital, medical colleges, colleges, high schools and public schools that dot the region. His brother, Mr. Tonse Upendra Pai was a legend in his own regard in the banking sector in the region, being one of the co-founders of what is now the nationalized Syndicate Bank - which was a pioneer in rural financing schemes in this country dedicated to the cause of the farmer.
Mr. T. Mohandas Pai today serves as Chairman of I.C.D.S Ltd., as well as, Chairman of Manipal Media Network Ltd. He also serves as the President of Dr. T.M.A Pai Foundation, President of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College Trust, Chairman of the Governing Council of Rastrakavi Govinda Pai Samshodhana Kendra, Udupi, and Regional Resource Centre for Folk Performing Arts, Udupi and Yakshagana Kendra, Udupi. In addition he has also been a member of the Executive Committee of the Indian Newspaper Society (I.N.S.) for two terms.
He has largely been responsible for safekeeping of Dr. T.M.A. Pai�s belongings in Smrithi Bhavan in Manipal the museum devoted to the memory of Dr. T.M.A. Pai. An upright person in matters of public life he is highly respected for his straightforwardness, independent decision. A great lover and connoisseur of art, he is also deeply interested in Indian heritage and is responsible with Vijaynath Shenoy in launching the Hasthashilpa Heritage Village in Manipal a multi-dimensional cultural project which aims at restoration and conservation of the nation�s cultural wealth expressed in the form of traditional buildings and objects of art, craft and other artefacts of aesthetic interest, some dating several hundred years ago.

Mr. T. Satish U. Pai - MD, MMNL
Mr. T. Satish U. Pai was born in Manipal in 1941, coincidentally on the same year that also saw the birth of Manipal Power Press that is now known as Manipal Technologies Ltd. Under the mentorship and able guidance of Mr. T. Mohandas Pai, Mr. Satish Pai carved out the strong foundations for the growth of The Manipal Group.
A strong proponent of the philosophy that the future is not "waiting to happen" but needs to be "created", Mr. T. Satish U Pai joined the family run Manipal Power Press during the year 1957 that was co-founded by his father Sri T. Upendra Pai and his uncle Dr. Tonse Madhava Anantha Pai.
After shouldering the responsibility of launching the Kannada daily Udayavani with Mr. T. Mohandas Pai, it was Mr. Satish Pai who as Editor of the paper, guided it through the initial years and shaped and moulded it into the newspaper giant that it is today. To him also goes the credit of establishing and leading Manipal Media Network Limited - initially publishing a newspaper and couple of magazines - to its present avatar of media giant with footprints across all forms of media - print, television and internet.
Today Mr. T. Satish Pai is the Managing Director of Manipal Media Network Ltd., guiding his son Mr. Gautham Pai in the day to day running of the company.
Mr. T. Satish Pai has travelled widely, visiting United Kingdom, United States of America, Russia, Europe and Japan. He has undergone training in Printing Technology with Roland Offsetmaschinenfabrik Faber & Schleichar AG in West Germany and has also attended many International Printing exhibitions like DRUPA, IPEX, etc.
Mr. Satish Pai likes to spend his free time with his family and greatly enjoys philately, travel, music and printing technology. His wife, Mrs. Sandhya Pai has been a source of constant support and a highly respected achiever in the journalism field.
For his contribution to the printing and publishing industry Mr. T. Satish U. Pai has won several awards in his lifetime:

A daring and dynamic journalist, Mrs. Sandhya S. Pai has left her indelible mark in the field of Kannada print and electronic media for the last few decades and is today a role model to young aspiring female journalists across the state. While her interest in media was honed when she was the only woman editor in Karnataka to manage three leading Kannada periodicals as editor, her achievements in television (serial writing, direction and production) have established her as a benchmark for others to follow.
As wife of Mr. T. Satish U. Pai, Managing Director of Manipal Media Network Limited, her calibre and accomplishments have been the source of strength behind the success of this media entity and today continue to inspire the progressive ideas of her son, Mr. Gautham Pai, Director of MMNL and MD of Manipal Technologies Limited.
In the challenging and rapidly changing world of journalism, Mrs. Sandhya Pai has stamped her editorial class by managing three periodicals, Taranga - the no. 1 Kannada weekly in circulation, Thushara - the monthly literary magazine, and Tunturu - the children�s fortnightly, as well as special supplements of Udayavani daily. Vinod Kumar is the Chief Executive Officer for the Media business of the well diversified Manipal Group. He came on board Manipal Media Network Ltd in December 2008.
Vinod is an exceptional leader and brings the Group his expertise in defining and executing the agenda of growing the business sustainably towards achieving the larger vision of creating a colossal multi-platform media group that enables socio-economic change. From 1986 till now, Vinod held a series of senior leadership roles with some of the most reputed media houses across different geographies.
